Generative AI (GenAI) presents both opportunities and challenges in scientific writing and academic publishing. To enhance transparency, Scopus recommends that journals establish a dedicated GenAI policy and disclose the use of GenAI in content creation or any other part of the peer review and publishing process. We acknowledge that GenAI is rapidly evolving, and Scopus does not impose specific requirements or wording for such a policy. However, it should be noted that major publishers and associations have already published policies or declarations regarding the use of AI and AI-assisted technologies in scientific writing on their official websites.
